Cybersecurity, as a modern science, is closely linked to humans. It regulates their use of modern technology and the internet in a secure manner that ensures data protection and privacy. Therefore, it entails many cyber values that should be adopted, contributing to a better organization of this relationship that helps achieve the core goals of cybersecurity.
The National Initiative for Digital Safety has focused on including the most prominent cyber values in awareness content; reading, audio and video production, educational and training awareness, by clarifying the duties of individuals and the ethical and social controls that must be adhered to when using the Internet and social networking sites, such as: respecting privacy, avoiding violating users' data, and bullying them by directing verbal or moral abuse, with a focus on the principles of social responsibility in confronting the risks of cybercrimes How individuals can effectively contribute to establishing digital safety at the community level.
The initiative's awareness content - among other important cyber values - also clarifies the most important rights of individuals in the virtual world, including: protecting personal data and preventing its sharing with strangers, avoiding the use of anonymous links, websites and programs that are not officially licensed; as they may pose a major risk to the digital safety of users, following the correct behavior in cases of cyber breach or information hacking, and the foundations of safe dealing with smart devices.
